Hêzan and Martyr Xalid Hiso are chicken-raising co-operatives established in Til Hemis to meet needs for eggs and meat in the area, and contribute to the livelihood of many families. Women are especially encouraged to participate in these projects.
Qamishlo Co-operatives Union delivered 2,000 chicks to both co-operatives, which were set up on 10 May. There are 12 chick breeding centers in Til Hemis and 40,000 chickens are born every 45 days. Veterinarians and experts are following the project closely.
