This is a translation of an Arabic article that first appeared on Hawar News on 4 November, 2017.

After two months of hard work, Inanna Agricultural Co-operative, which is supervised by Kongreya Star in Afrin has started harvesting the crops of green onions and garlic, and selling them in the markets of the region.

The agricultural season was very successful last year in making profits for the members of Inanna Agricultural Co-operative Society, and in raising awareness about the leading role of women in the economy.

Inanna started the cultivation process of three hectares of agricultural land near the station in the area of Rajo, then started planting onions and garlic, spraying pesticides, applying fertilisers and irrigating.

Inanna has seven members and all of them are women who are going to start other agricultural projects once this one is finished, some of the future projects will involve planting wheat.
