Environmental Committees are being formed in schools in Amuda, as part of a collaboration between the Keziyên Kesk Environmental Association and the Education Authority of the Jazira Canton.

The Environmental Committee in Umm al-Rabie Elementary School in Amuda started its programme, which included a lecture on the concept of an ‘environmental school’.

The lecture on the concept of eco-school included:

  • The importance of preserving the environment and ecological balance as a collective responsibility of each individual.
  • Risks resulting from climate change, environmental degradation and loss of vegetation.
  • At the end of the lecture, many students and teachers participated in planting tree seeds and writing brochures calling for the preservation of the environment.
