The Dam Administration in North and East Syria has announced its achievements for the first half of 2025, which included maintenance of equipment, testing of heat exchangers, replacement of transformers, and rehabilitation of ventilation networks, alongside ongoing efforts to restore Tishrin Dam.
According to the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria Region, the total amount of electricity generated during the first half of 2025 reached 715.5 million kilowatt-hours (kWh).
The electricity output was distributed as follows: Euphrates Dam: 537,520,000 kWh, Al-Hurriya Dam: 106,616,000 kWh, and Tishrin Dam: 71,400,000 kWh.
Administrator Imad Obeid stated that the Euphrates Dam’s upstream water level dropped from 301.34 meters at the beginning of the year to 297.35 meters by mid-June, with an average water inflow of 329 m³/s and an average irrigation discharge of 53.71 m³/s.
Technical operations included extensive maintenance of electromechanical equipment, testing of heat exchangers, replacement of current transformers, rehabilitation of ventilation networks and power feed transformers. Additionally, continuous efforts are underway to rescue the Tishrin Dam, which went out of service earlier this year due to military activities. Work is ongoing to restore its operations and repair its damaged infrastructure and equipment.
