Mualda Co-operative to Provide Electricity to 200 Houses in Village of Manbij

This is a translation of an Arabic article that first appeared on Hawar News on 21 September, 2017.

The people of Fars al-Ghanam village in the countryside of eastern Manbij have formed a co-operative society to run an electric generator in co-ordination with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Economic Committee in Manbij.

The generator will provide electricity to 200 houses in the village and will work for eight hours per day at a cost of 1,700 SYP [Syrian Pounds].

The project was inaugurated with a celebration attended by villagers and representatives of the institutions of the Democratic Self Administration, administrators of Ronahia Hevgirtin Co-operative and other representatives of civil society institutions of in Minbij.

The Economic Committee is working on many future projects in the form of co-operative societies, including a shopping mall in Manbij, an agricultural project and a veterinarian pharmacy.
