On 22 February 2024, the Green Tress Environmental Association distributed tree saplings to the schools of Tirbesbiye city as part of the project ‘Environmental School – Environmental Community’, and in memory of the martyr artist Mansour Karimian. The seeds were planted two years ago and have been cared for and watered since then, in coordination between the workers in the Odeh field and the Association.
This is one of ten nurseries to be established in cooperation with civil and official institutions. Part of the nursery was damaged as a result of the Turkish government’s air raids on 22 December, 2023, and another part was destroyed.
At the beginning of 2024, environmental committees were established in schools, and training workshops were initiated to qualify and activate these committees in cooperation between the Education Authority in Al-Jazira Province, the Directorate of Education in Tirbesbiye, and the Green Tress Association. 60 teachers and school officials from the environmental committees were trained in the schools of Tirbesbiye and its villages.
