The Deir ez-Zor Canton Municipalities Union has opened the Siwêdan solar water station.
Siwêdan water station was opened with an opening ceremony attended by the co-chairs of the Deir ez-Zor Canton Municipalities Union, residents of Siwêdan village and opinion leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mihemed El Mêzar, the director of the Deir ez-Zor Western Rural Municipalities Union, congratulated the efforts made for the opening of the station.
Then, Maher El Elawî, co-chair of the Deir ez-Zor Canton Municipalities Union, spoke about the difficulties in the region and the targeting of service institutions, especially water stations.
El Elawî said that the biggest obstacle to the development of these stations is electricity. He also thanked all the authorized parties and the people of Siwêdan for their cooperation.
According to the project managers, the station consists of 332 solar panels that produce 620 watts of solar energy, a 90-kilowatt dynamo and a generator.
The station is expected to operate for 12-13 hours a day to provide drinking water to citizens.
